HDPE Square Raft Grid Project

Successfully implemented the 64 HDPE Square Raft project — the first seaweed cultivation project in Puducherry, under the guidance of CMFRI.

The project was conceptualized under the Department of Fisheries, Puducherry, with the premier institute CMFRI. We were included as technical and execution partners by CMFRI. We were able to deliver the project successfully within the stipulated timeline. The project has been marked as a major success with the involvement of around 150 fishermen families, and has become a model project to be further expanded and replicated in other areas.

Proprietary Circular HDPE Rafts

We helped in developing proprietary circular HDPE-based seaweed rafts with CSIR-CSMCRI Mandapam. It has been successfully tested over multiple cycles with the following benefits:

• Reduced cultivation cycle (25–30 days vs. 45 days)
• 4–5 times higher yield compared to bamboo rafts
• Lifespan of ~12 years with minimal maintenance
• Suitability for round-the-year cultivation and monsoon preservation
• Potential for co-culture of allied species

Commercial Cultivation Projects

We have implemented various other seaweed cultivation projects with private players in Rameshwaram, Thondi & Kelakarai regions of Tamil Nadu.
